After being sent away for a crime he didn't commit, Benjamin Barker returns to London to seek revenge against the judge who sent him down and get his daughter back. Posing as Sweeney Todd, he opens a barber shop above Mrs. Lovett's pie shop. They lure in customers who they then kill and put into Mrs. Lovett's pies.
In the final scenes, Todd kills a beggar woman who he does not recognise as his wife Lucy who Mrs. Lovett had told him had dies. Todd proceeds to kill Mrs. Lovett and the judge and almost kills his daughter Lucy until the man she loves kills Todd himself.
The movie has fantastic cinematography but it is a bit strange that they keep bursting into song.
