Casablanca, 1942

During World War II, those seeking refuge from the German's headed for America but to get there they had to go to Casablanca to get visas. Here, was Rick's bar run by Rick Blaine (Humphrey Boggart) who is given two exit visas to look after by a man who is later arrested.

The man who wants those visas is Victor Laszlo who is not only wanted by the Nazi's but is also the husband of the love of Rick's life Ilsa (Ingrid Bergman) who left him at a train station after meeting in Paris.

Rick helps Victor and Isla to escape even though he has an underhand agreement with the police chief to turn them into the Nazi's.

I loved this film and was surprised by how short it seemed to be. The plot was simple (compared to many of todays blockbusters) and really showed the compassion of people during the war.
