It's four years since the TV series ended and the film joins Carrie and Mr. Big buying an apartment. They decide for financial reasons to get married and what starts as an intimate wedding expands into a huge spectacle especially when Carrie poses for Vogue in a Vivienne Westwood dress. Big gets cold feet and decides he can't go in, he changes his mind but Carrie has already found out and leaves. After a long time apart, Big tells Carrie how he feels and they decide to get married again in the small intimate ceremony they always wanted.
Meanwhile, Charlotte's perfect life is completed with the arrival of baby Rose. Miranda and Steve separate when he has an affair but later come back together on the Brooklyn Bridge. Samantha is still dating Smith and running his career but she gets restless with the focus not being on her and they break up in the final scenes.
The first time I saw the film I didn't really enjoy it as I felt it moved too fast in areas and the stroyline was unconvincing in places. I felt that the film really tried to capture the zeitgeist of feminism and equality.
